Ingredients

The filling

  • 10 ounces ground pork
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sake
  • 1 large egg (whisked)
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 10 ounces cabbage (finely chopped)
  • 4 large green onions (thinly sliced)

The wrappers and frying

  • 25 pieces egg roll wrappers
  • ¼ cup oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Mix the filling ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Prepare the egg roll wrappers according to package instructions.
  3. Scoop golf ball-sized portions of the pork mixture using wet hands.
  4. Place each portion onto a wrapper, fold it lengthways, and seal the ends.
  5. Fry the spring rolls in hot oil until golden and crispy on both sides, about 4-5 minutes.
  6. Drain on paper towels and serve immediately.
