Crispy Shrimp Burgers

Ingredients

The patties

  • 1 pound jumbo shrimp, peeled and tails removed
  • 2 pieces red chilies, de-seeded
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon old bay seasoning
  • 4 pieces green onions
  • ¼ cup parsley, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup cornflour
  • 1 large egg white
  • 2 cups panko bread crumbs
  • ¼ cup oil for frying

To assemble

  • as needed lettuce
  • as needed tomatoes
  • as needed cheese
  • as needed brioche buns
  • as needed mayonnaise or Big Mac sauce

Instructions

  1. Chop ¼ of the shrimp finely and set aside.
  2. In a food processor, blend the remaining shrimp with chili, garlic powder, old bay seasoning, green onions, and parsley until smooth.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a bowl, add the chopped shrimp, egg white, and cornflour, and mix until combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into four patties and coat them with panko bread crumbs.
  5. Refrigerate the patties for 30 minutes if desired.
  6. Heat oil in a skillet and cook the patties for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
  7. Assemble the burgers with your favorite toppings and serve immediately.
