Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the onion, bell pepper, and celery, cooking until tender.
- Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Stir in the tomatoes, tomato sauce, broth, bay leaf, salt, pepper, Cajun seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes until thickened.
- Add the shrimp and cook until they are pink and opaque.
- Stir in the green onions and parsley, garnish if desired, and serve over rice.
