Dill Pickles

Ingredients

Cucumbers

  • 6 small gherkin cucumbers
  • 1-2 large cucumbers, sliced into spears

Seasonings

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 leaves bay leaves
  • 2 tablespoons dill, fresh and finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons celtic sea salt

Brine

  • 3 cups water

Instructions

  1. Wash the cucumbers and place them in a wide mouth one quart mason jar.
  2. Add garlic, bay leaves, and dill to the jar with the cucumbers.
  3. Close the jar and let it sit for one hour.
  4. Mix salt with water until dissolved.
  5. Fill the jar with the salt water mixture up to the top.
  6. Cover the jar and let it sit in a cool place for 7 days.
  7. Serve the pickles and store in the fridge after opening.
