Homemade Dill Pickles

Instructions
- In a saucepan, boil the water, vinegar, salt, and sugar until the sugar dissolves.
- In two pint-sized Mason jars, add the cucumbers, dill, garlic, bay leaves, peppercorns, and red chili flakes.
- Pour the vinegar mixture into the jars, leaving some extra pickling liquid if necessary.
- Let the jars cool completely at room temperature, then cover and refrigerate for about 4 days before serving.
