Easy Wonton Soup

Ingredients

The soup base

  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 bunch green onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp freshly grated ginger
  • cups shredded carrots
  • ¼ cup reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 8 cups chicken broth

The filling

  • 24 oz mini frozen wontons
  • 3 cups fresh spinach

Toppings

  • to taste chili crisp
  • to taste sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Heat sesame oil in a large pan or Dutch oven.
  2. Chop green onions, separating the white and green parts. Cook the white parts in the pan for one minute.
  3. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another minute.
  4. Stir in shredded carrots and soy sauce.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  6. Once boiling, add frozen wontons and spinach. Cook for 5-6 minutes until wontons are cooked through.
  7. Serve topped with green onion, chili crisp, and sesame seeds.
