Ingredients

The filling

  • 1 pound skirt steak
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 16 ounces refried beans
  • 1 large avocado
  • 1 large tomato
  • ½ large red onion
  • 1 cup shredded cheese

The bread

  • 4 pieces hoagie rolls or any long crusty roll
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Marinate the steak with taco seasoning for 5 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan and cook the steak for 5-6 minutes, flipping halfway, then let it rest for 10 minutes.
  3. Slice the rolls in half and spread mayonnaise on one side.
  4. On the other side of the rolls, add refried beans, salad vegetables, and avocado.
  5. Layer the seasoned steak and shredded cheese, then cut the sandwiches in half and serve.
