Lemon Ginger BBQ Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 units shallots, minced
  • 1 tbsp minced fresh ginger
  • cup packed light brown sugar
  • cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • to taste sea salt
  • to taste fresh ground pepper

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low-medium heat.
  2. Add the minced shallots and ginger, cooking for about 4 minutes.
  3. Stir in the brown sugar, lemon juice, and mustard, and simmer for about 6 minutes until thickened.
  4. Stir the sauce often while cooking, and add salt and pepper to taste.
