Healthy BBQ Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 15oz can tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp molasses
  • 1 tsp tamari (or soy sauce if gluten is OK)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tsp ground mustard
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Heat a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. 2. Combine tomato sauce, tomato paste, honey, molasses, and apple cider vinegar in the saucepan.
  3. 3. Add tamari and the remaining spices.
  4. 4. Let the mixture simmer on low heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. 5. Pour the sauce into jars and let it cool completely at room temperature before storing.
