Tomato and Basil Bruschetta

The bruschetta

cherry or grape tomatoes, sliced

balsamic glaze (optional)
The baguette slices

whole wheat baguette, sliced into ½-inch slices

tablespoons
olive oil, for brushing

clove
garlic, sliced in half
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- In a bowl, mix sliced tomatoes with minced garlic, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, chopped basil, salt, and pepper. Set aside to marinate.
- Slice the baguette into about 16 slices and brush each slice lightly with olive oil.
- Place the oiled-side down on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes until lightly toasted.
- Once toasted, rub each slice with the cut side of garlic.
- Spoon the tomato mixture onto each slice of garlic bread and drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired.
