Healthy, Oven-Baked Mixed Berry Crisp

Ingredients

The berry filling

  • 3 lbs fresh berries (blackberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 2 tbsp arrowroot powder (or tapioca flour)
  • 1 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • ¼ tsp sea salt

The crisp topping

  • ½ cup cassava flour (or almond flour)
  • cup maple sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • cup ghee (or coconut oil)
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans or coconut flakes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the berry filling ingredients and place them in a baking dish or oven-safe skillet.
  3. In the same mixing bowl, combine the crisp topping ingredients except for the chopped nuts, mixing until crumbly.
  4. Stir in the chopped nuts and sprinkle the mixture over the berries.
  5. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the berries are heated through but not mushy.
  6. Remove from the oven and serve, optionally with dairy-free ice cream.
