Ingredients

The potatoes

  • 1 pound red potatoes

The seasoning

  • 3-4 Tbsp vegan butter or olive oil
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet to medium heat or an electric skillet to 350°F (176°C).
  2. Microwave the potatoes for 4-6 minutes, flipping halfway, until slightly soft, or bake in a 400°F (204°C) oven for 20-35 minutes until soft.
  3. Cut the cooked potatoes into bite-sized pieces.
  4. Melt vegan butter in the hot skillet, adding 1 Tbsp at a time to accommodate all potatoes.
  5. Place the potato pieces in the skillet, ensuring cut sides touch the butter.
  6. Spray the top with oil and season with half of the seasonings.
  7. After about 4 minutes, flip the potatoes to brown evenly.
  8. After another 3-4 minutes, flip them skin side down and season with remaining salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  9. Cook for another 2-4 minutes until crispy and golden brown on all sides.
  10. Serve with hot sauce or your choice of condiment.
