Ingredients

The base

  • ½ tablespoon avocado oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 4 cups marinara sauce
  • 16 ounces spaghetti

The cheese

  • 8 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 12 ounces mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Heat the avocado oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up until browned.
  4. Add chopped onion, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning; season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook until the meat is browned and onions are tender, about 7 to 8 minutes.
  6. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 3 to 4 minutes.
  7. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions, then drain and return to the hot pan.
  8. Toss the spaghetti with ricotta cheese.
  9. In a 13 x 9” casserole dish, layer a spoonful of meat sauce, half of the noodles, half of the sauce, and half of the cheese. Repeat the layers, ending with cheese on top.
  10. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until warm and bubbly.
