Ingredients

The brownie mixture

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 units eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ cup gluten-free baking flour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt

The topping

  • cup crushed peppermint candies or candy canes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare an 8x8-inch baking dish.
  2. Melt the chocolate chips and butter in the microwave until smooth.
  3. Let the melted chocolate cool for 5 minutes.
  4. Whisk the eggs into the chocolate mixture one at a time, then add sugar.
  5. Incorporate the vanilla, cocoa powder, gluten-free flour, cinnamon, salt, and half of the crushed candy canes.
  6. Pour the brownie mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool for 10-15 minutes and top with remaining crushed candy canes.
  9. Cut and serve once cooled.
