Quick and Easy Homemade Cherry Ice Cream

Instructions
- Whisk together cream, milk, ¾ cup sugar, vanilla, and 1 tablespoon almond extract.
- If possible, chill the mixture for a few hours.
- Process the mixture according to your ice cream maker's instructions.
- When the ice cream is about halfway done churning, chop the cherries or blend them until finely chopped.
- Mix the chopped cherries with the remaining ¼ cup sugar and 1 teaspoon almond extract, then chill.
- In the final moments of churning, add the cherry mixture to the ice cream or stir in by hand after churning.
- Transfer the ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze until firm, several hours or overnight.
