Ingredients

The crust

  • 1 roll ready-to-bake pie crust

The filling

  • 2 cups pecans
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¾ cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Unroll the pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie plate.
  2. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and roast the pecans for 5 minutes until fragrant, then chop them coarsely.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, maple syrup, brown sugar, vanilla extract, melted butter, and sea salt until well combined.
  4. Fold in the chopped pecans and semisweet chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the filling into the crust and bake for 55 minutes, or until the center is set.
  6. Allow the pie to cool completely on a rack before slicing and serving.
