Beer Cheese Dip

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup whole milk or half-and-half
  • cup beer
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Grate the cheddar cheese and set aside.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then add the flour and whisk until a thick paste forms.
  3. Slowly whisk in the milk until the mixture thickens slightly.
  4. Whisk in the remaining ingredients one at a time.
  5. Remove from heat and pour into a serving dish. The dip will thicken as it cools.
