Garlic Herb Oven Roasted Turkey Breast

Ingredients

The turkey

  • 4–5 lb boneless turkey breast, skin on
  • 1 unit orange, sliced
  • 1 unit lemon, sliced
  • 1 large sheet double lined cheesecloth

The garlic herb butter

  • 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon fresh tarragon, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh sage, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Pat the turkey breast dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. Place orange and lemon slices under the turkey breast.
  4. In a bowl, mix softened butter with salt, pepper, tarragon, sage, thyme, rosemary, and garlic until combined.
  5. Rub ¾ of the butter mixture under and on top of the turkey skin.
  6. Cover the turkey breast with cheesecloth.
  7. Bake for 1 hour.
  8. Remove cheesecloth, add remaining butter on top, and roast for another 15 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  9. Let the turkey rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
