Ingredients

Meatballs

  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil
  • ½ cup Italian bread crumbs
  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • ounces grated Parmesan Reggiano
  • ½ medium yellow onion
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • cup Italian parsley leaves
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red peppers
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 28 ounce jar jarred tomato sauce

Pasta

  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 1 28 ounce jar jarred tomato sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F and prepare a baking sheet with oil.
  2. Soak the breadcrumbs in milk for about 5 minutes.
  3. Grate the Parmesan and combine it with onion, garlic, parsley, egg, crushed red pepper, salt, and pepper in a food processor.
  4. Combine the ground pork and beef in a bowl, then add the mixture from the food processor and mix well.
  5. Form the mixture into 2-ounce meatballs and place them on the baking sheet.
  6. Bake the meatballs for 15 minutes.
  7. While the meatballs are baking, warm the jarred tomato sauce in a pot.
  8. Transfer the baked meatballs to the sauce and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
  9. Cook the pasta according to package instructions, then drain.
  10. Combine the cooked pasta with the remaining sauce and serve with meatballs on top.
