Instructions
- Soften the bread in milk and set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, pork, grated onion, garlic, parsley, basil, cheese, salt, peppers, and egg with the softened bread.
- Shape the mixture into about 12 meatballs and refrigerate until needed.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking pan with foil or parchment paper.
- Arrange the meatballs in a single layer on the baking pan and spray with oil.
- Bake the meatballs for 12-15 minutes until cooked through and browned.
- For the sauce, heat olive oil in a saucepan and sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
- Add the tomato sauce, herbs, spices, and broth, and bring to a boil.
- Simmer the sauce for about 30 minutes, adjusting seasonings as needed.
- Serve the meatballs warm over spaghetti or with crusty bread.
