Ingredients

The Meatballs

  • lb ground beef or pork
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup finely-diced white onion
  • ¼ cup freshly-grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • ¼ tsp dried oregano
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 units eggs

The Sauce

  • 1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • to taste chopped fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine all meatball ingredients in a large bowl and mix until evenly combined.
  2. Roll the mixture into balls, about a tablespoon each, and set aside.
  3. For stovetop cooking, heat crushed tomatoes in a pan, add smoked paprika, and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add meatballs to the sauce, cover, and simmer for 20-30 minutes, turning occasionally.
  5. Serve meatballs with extra sauce on top, garnished with basil or parsley.
