Ingredients

The meatball mixture

  • 1 piece egg
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 slice white sandwich bread
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

For cooking

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. 1. In a large bowl, mash together the egg, cream, and bread until smooth.
  2. 2. Add the ground beef, onion, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper, and mix well.
  3. 3. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet.
  4. 4. For pan-frying, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the meatballs until browned and cooked through, about 15 minutes.
  5. 5. For baking, preheat the oven to 400°F, place the meatballs on baking sheets, and bake for 15-20 minutes until browned and cooked through.
