Ginger Tea

large lemons (sliced, optional)
Instructions
- Add ginger, star anise, cardamom, and cinnamon sticks to a medium pot.
- Pour in water and place on the stove over medium-high heat.
- Once the water comes to a boil, reduce the heat to low and cook for about 5-10 minutes.
- Taste as it simmers and add more water if needed.
- Turn off the stove and remove the pot.
- Sieve the ginger tea using a fine sieve or cheesecloth into a bowl or mug.
- Add lemon juice to taste, starting with ¼ cup.
- Discard the remaining ingredients and top with lemon slices and sweetener if desired.
- Serve hot and enjoy.
