Instructions
- 1. In a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat, combine the ground beef and chopped onion. Cook until the meat is mostly browned, about 5 minutes, then drain well.
- 2. In a small bowl, whisk together the tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and salt and pepper to taste.
- 3. Pour the sauce over the drained beef and stir until evenly coated.
- 4. Simmer the mixture uncovered for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 5. Serve the sloppy joe mixture in the split sandwich buns.
