Ingredients

The sauce

  • cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons chili garlic sauce

The main ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1.5 lbs flank steak
  • 8 cups chopped broccoli florets
  • 1.5 tablespoons cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Mix the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, minced garlic, and chili garlic sauce in a bowl and set aside.
  2. Tenderize the flank steak using a meat tenderizer until it is about ½ inch thick.
  3. Slice the flank steak into thin strips.
  4. Turn on the Instant Pot's sauté function and add olive oil.
  5. Sear the flank steak for 2 minutes, then turn off the Instant Pot.
  6. Add the sauce to the beef and mix well, then cover the Instant Pot.
  7. Cook on high pressure for 8 minutes and then quick release the pressure.
  8. Add the broccoli to the pot, cover, and set the timer to 0 minutes.
  9. Quick release the pressure again once it beeps.
  10. Remove the beef and broccoli, leaving the sauce in the pot, and whisk in the cornstarch.
  11. Return the beef and broccoli to the pot and mix to coat with the sauce.
