Ingredients

The Stir-Fry

  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil or Avocado Oil
  • 1 Pound Flank Steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 Cups Broccoli Florets, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 Cloves Garlic, mashed
  • 2 Green Onions, sliced thin both the whites and the greens
  • ¼ Cup Water

The Sauce

  • ¾ Cup Beef or Chicken Broth
  • ¼ Cup Hoisin Sauce
  • ¼ Cup Low Sodium Soy Sauce or Coconut Aminos
  • 1 Tablespoon Rice Vinegar
  • 2 Teaspoons Avocado Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Arrowroot Starch or Tapioca Flour or Corn Starch
  • 2 Teaspoons Ground Ginger
  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper

Instructions

  1. Chop the flank steak into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
  2. Wash and chop the broccoli into small pieces.
  3. Prepare the sauce by whisking together all sauce ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.
  4. Heat one tablespoon of oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  5. Add the steak to the pan and sauté until mostly cooked through, about 4 minutes.
  6. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.
  7. Add another tablespoon of oil to the pan, then add the chopped broccoli, garlic, green onion, and water.
  8. Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  9. Return the beef to the pan and stir to combine with the vegetables.
  10. Pour the sauce over the mixture and stir until everything is well coated.
  11. Cook for another 5-6 minutes, then taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
  12. Serve over rice and enjoy.
