Easy Beef and Broccoli

Ingredients

The main ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger root
  • 1 cup bone broth
  • cup tamari (or coconut aminos)
  • ¼ cup unpasteurized honey
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 4 cups raw broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp corn starch (or tapioca starch)
  • 2-3 tbsp water

For garnish

  • to taste toasted sesame seeds
  • to taste sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Combine minced garlic, grated ginger, bone broth, tamari, honey, and toasted sesame oil in a bowl and whisk until well mixed.
  2. Heat a wok or large skillet over high heat and add the sauce, bringing it to a simmer.
  3. Add broccoli florets and cook for about 1 minute until they are vibrant green and slightly softened.
  4. Add the thinly sliced beef, stir well, and cook until the beef is about half-way done, approximately 30 seconds.
  5. Dilute the corn starch in water and pour it into the wok, stirring well.
  6. Let the dish simmer for at least 1 minute until the sauce thickens and the beef is nearly cooked but still slightly pink.
  7. Remove from heat and serve promptly, optionally garnishing with sesame seeds and green onions.
