Instructions
- Mix all-purpose flour, salt, and Old Bay seasoning in a bowl.
- Whisk in the beer and egg until the batter is smooth, then let it sit for 10 minutes.
- Pat the cod fillets dry and season with salt and pepper.
- Heat oil in a pot to 375°F (190°C).
- Coat the cod fillets in the batter and drop them into the hot oil carefully.
- Fry the fish for 5 to 8 minutes until golden brown, turning halfway through.
- Remove the fish and drain on paper towels.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges and a dipping sauce.
