Ingredients

The Cod

  • 2 lb Fresh Cod Fish
  • ½ cup Pancake Mix
  • ½ cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Large Organic Egg
  • 1 cup IPA Beer
  • 1 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp Creole Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper

Sriracha Tartar Sauce

  • cup Miracle Whip Mayo
  • 2 tsp Sriracha Sauce
  • 2 tsp Dill Relish
  • ¼ tsp Creole Seasoning
  • 2 tsp Lemon Juice
  • Dash Garlic Powder
  • Dash Paprika
  • Dash Black Pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut the cod filet into 6 pieces and season with Creole seasoning and black pepper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix pancake mix, flour, nutmeg, and egg. Gradually add beer until the mixture is slightly thick.
  3. Preheat a cooking pan to medium heat and add cooking oil.
  4. Coat the cod pieces with flour and then dip them into the batter, ensuring they are fully coated.
  5. Fry each piece of cod for 4 minutes on each side, then place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  6. For the tartar sauce, combine all ingredients in a small bowl and whisk until smooth.
  7. Serve the cod hot with the tartar sauce.
