Sautéed Cremini and Wild Mushrooms

Ingredients

The mushrooms

  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 8-ounce package cremini mushrooms, quartered
  • 1 4-ounce package wild mushroom pieces (like oyster and shiitake)

The herbs and seasoning

  • 3 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary
  • to taste salt
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper

Optional

  • 2 teaspoons butter

Instructions

  1. Heat a pan on medium-high heat and add the olive oil.
  2. Once the oil is shimmering, add the mushrooms, thyme, rosemary, and smashed garlic.
  3. Stir the mushrooms occasionally, reducing the heat if necessary.
  4. Brown the mushrooms for about 7 minutes.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. If desired, stir in butter for a richer taste.
