Instructions
Combine milk, sugar, and oil in a pot and heat until boiling, then remove from heat.
Cool the milk mixture over ice until warm (105-115 degrees) and sprinkle yeast over it; let it stand for 10 minutes.
Mix in 8 cups of flour and cover; allow to rise for 1 hour.
Combine remaining flour with baking soda, baking powder, and salt; mix into the dough.
Refrigerate the dough for at least a few hours or up to a few days.
Prepare baking sheets and divide the dough for large or small cakes.
For large cakes, roll out the dough, add fillings, roll into a tube, and shape into a circle.
Bake at 375°F for 20-35 minutes until golden brown.
For individual cakes, roll dough into snakes, tie into knots, and bake.
Prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar and melted butter, adding almond extract and milk to desired consistency.
Glaze the cooled cakes and decorate with sprinkles and a plastic baby.
