Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in warm water and let it sit for about five minutes.
- Combine sugar, salt, milk, vanilla, and butter in a bowl and microwave until melted.
- Whisk eggs and sour cream into the lukewarm butter mixture, then mix thoroughly.
- Gradually add flour, lemon zest, and nutmeg, mixing until combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic for about 8-10 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled, about one hour.
- Roll the dough into a 16x10-inch rectangle.
- Prepare the cinnamon sugar filling by mixing melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, pecans, and flour.
- Spread the filling over the dough, roll it up, and pinch the edges to seal.
- Form the rolled dough into a ring on a greased baking sheet and let it rise until doubled, about one hour.
- Preheat the oven to 375℉ (190℃).
- Brush the dough with egg wash and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool for five minutes, then prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, water, and vanilla.
- Spread the glaze over the warm cake and sprinkle with colored sugar before serving.
