Ingredients

Streusel Topping

  • cups all-purpose flour
  • cups brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted

Cake

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs, at room temperature
  • cups sour cream, at room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Vanilla Glaze

  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk or heavy cream
  • ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. For the streusel, mix flour, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, and melted butter until crumbly.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients for the cake.
  4. Cream the butter and sugar until smooth, then add eggs one at a time, followed by sour cream and vanilla.
  5. Mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Spread half of the batter in the pan, sprinkle with half of the streusel, then add the remaining batter and top with the rest of the streusel.
  7. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool completely before drizzling with the vanilla glaze and cutting into squares.
