Chicken Broccoli Alfredo

Ingredients

The pasta

  • 10 ounces rotini pasta
  • 1 ½ cups broccoli florets

The sauce

  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breast
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 ¼ cups heavy cream
  • ¾ cup parmesan cheese
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in salted water according to package directions and add broccoli during the last 3 minutes.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a pan over medium-high heat, add chicken, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned.
  3. Add garlic and Italian seasoning to the chicken and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  4. Remove the chicken from the pan and keep warm, then wipe out the pan.
  5. Melt the remaining butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat, add cream, and simmer until thickened.
  6. Whisk in parmesan cheese until melted and season the sauce with salt and pepper.
  7. Combine the pasta, broccoli, and chicken with the sauce and toss to coat.
  8. Sprinkle with parsley and serve.
