White Chocolate Peppermint Bark

Ingredients

The chocolate

  • 8 ounces dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 8 ounces white chocolate chips

The flavoring

  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 2 pieces candy canes, crushed

Instructions

  1. Line an 8x8 baking dish or a small cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips in a bowl for 1 minute, stirring until smooth.
  3. Spread the melted chocolate into the bottom of the lined dish and refrigerate for 5-7 minutes to set.
  4. Melt the white chocolate for 1 minute in the microwave, stirring until creamy. If needed, microwave for additional 15-second increments.
  5. Stir in the peppermint extract into the melted white chocolate and let it cool for 1 minute.
  6. Pour the white chocolate over the dark chocolate layer in the dish.
  7. Sprinkle the crushed candy canes on top.
  8. Refrigerate until set, about 30 minutes, then break into pieces to serve.
