Instructions
- Soak the dry beans for two nights before baking.
- Make the sweet bean paste and yudane the night before baking.
- Combine milk, egg, sugar, yeast, bread flour, and salt in a mixer and knead for about 15 minutes.
- Add butter and knead for another 15 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a greased bowl until doubled in size, about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal balls and let them rest.
- Wrap each sweet bean paste ball with the dough and shape into rolls.
- Place on a lined baking tray and cover for second proofing for 20-30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 356°F (180°C).
- Brush with beaten egg or milk, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and bake for 20 minutes.
- Cool on a wire rack.
