Ingredients

The bacon

  • 12 ounces smoked bacon

The glaze

  • 3 tablespoons real maple syrup
  • teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a rimmed baking sheet with heavy-duty aluminum foil.
  2. Arrange the bacon in a single layer on the foil.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons of maple syrup and cayenne pepper.
  4. Brush the mixture over the bacon using a pastry brush.
  5. Bake the bacon for 18-22 minutes until crisp, watching closely to prevent burning.
  6. Remove the bacon from the oven and transfer it to a paper towel-lined plate using tongs.
  7. If desired, brush the bacon with the remaining 1 tablespoon of maple syrup before serving.
