Asian Style Sesame Crusted Salmon

Ingredients

The salmon

  • 3 tbsp white sesame seeds
  • 3 tbsp black sesame seeds
  • 4 pieces sustainably sourced salmon fillets (3.5 ounces each)
  • 2 tsp wasabi paste
  • 1 tsp tamari or soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oil

The ginger-garlic drizzle

  • 1 piece lime (zest and juice)
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes
  • 1 pinch salt

Optional garnish

  • to taste green onions (thinly sliced)
  • to taste cilantro
  • to taste toasted nori

Instructions

  1. Mix lime zest, juice, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, and salt in a small bowl. Adjust seasoning and set aside.
  2. Combine white and black sesame seeds on a plate and set aside.
  3. Mix wasabi paste and tamari, then brush each salmon piece with the mixture and roll in sesame seeds to coat.
  4. Heat oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add salmon and cook for 1 minute on each side until all sides are cooked.
  5. Plate the salmon and drizzle with the ginger-lime vinaigrette. Serve with brown rice and sautéed vegetables.
