Honey Sesame Glazed Salmon

Ingredients

The salmon

  • 4 fillets salmon, skin on (about 900g | 2lbs total)

The glaze

  • ½ cup unpasteurized honey
  • cup coconut aminos
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 large clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp Himalayan salt
  • ¼ tsp ground white pepper

Garnish

  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients for the marinade in a measuring cup and mix well.
  2. Place the fish skin side down in a baking dish and pour the glaze over it, ensuring it's well coated.
  3. Cover the fillets with plastic film and marinate in the refrigerator for about 4 hours.
  4. Preheat the oven to 450°F.
  5. Remove the fillets from the glaze and place them on a paper towel to remove excess glaze.
  6. Simmer the glaze in a saucepan over medium heat until reduced by half, about 4-5 minutes.
  7. Heat oil in a skillet over high heat and add the fillets skin side down, cooking until the skin is dark and crispy, about 2-3 minutes.
  8. Transfer the skillet to the oven and cook for another 5 minutes until the exterior is opaque.
  9. Remove from the oven, set to broil, and return the fish to the baking dish.
  10. Spoon some glaze over each fillet and broil until golden, about 3-4 minutes.
  11. Remove from the oven and add more glaze over the fillets before serving.
