Ingredients

The salmon

  • 4 pieces salmon fillets
  • 1–2 tablespoons avocado oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • to taste none salt
  • to taste none ground black pepper

The glaze

  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons tamari
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha
  • ¼ teaspoon grated ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • optional none green onion

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the honey, tamari, sriracha, ginger, garlic, and lemon juice to make the glaze and set aside.
  2. Pat the salmon dry and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the avocado oil.
  4. Place the salmon in the pan skin-side up and sear for 4-5 minutes.
  5. Flip the salmon to skin-side down, add butter and the glaze mixture.
  6. Baste the salmon with the sauce and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat, drizzle with extra sauce, and garnish with green onion.
