Honey Glazed Salmon

Ingredients

The salmon

  • 4 6-oz. salmon filets

The marinade

  • cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ½ teaspoon fresh grated ginger

For serving

  • ½ cup minced green onion
  • to taste sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon filets dry and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, and grated ginger.
  3. Remove 1/4 to 1/3 of the marinade and set it aside.
  4. Marinate the salmon in the remaining marinade for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  5. For grilling, preheat the grill to 450ºF and let the salmon sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Spray the grill grates and place the salmon skin-side down, grilling for 4 minutes.
  7. Brush the salmon with the reserved marinade and grill for an additional 2 minutes.
  8. Flip the salmon and grill for another 2 minutes until it reaches an internal temperature of 140°F.
  9. Let the salmon rest for 5 minutes before serving with green onion and sesame seeds.
  10. For broiling, preheat the oven to high broil, place the salmon on a foil-lined baking sheet, and broil for 7 minutes.
  11. Brush with the remaining glaze and broil for 1 more minute until it reaches 140°F.
