Ingredients

  • 3 large ripe avocados
  • 1 medium ripe tomato, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 medium jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped
  • cup finely minced white onion
  • cup chopped cilantro leaves
  • 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Combine the diced tomato, jalapeño pepper, chopped onion, cilantro, lime juice, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  2. Score the flesh of the avocados and scoop the pulp into the bowl.
  3. Mash the avocado with a fork, mixing it with the other ingredients while leaving some chunks for texture.
  4. Let the guacamole sit for about 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Serve fresh or store in an airtight container with plastic film pressed against the surface to prevent discoloration.
