Apple Pie Topping

butter

firm apples (skins on, cored and diced)

brown sugar

ground cinnamon

chopped toasted walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Whisk together oats, chia seeds, milk, maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt in a bowl.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add diced apples and sauté for 4-5 minutes until soft.
- Stir in brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Serve overnight oats cold or warm them in the microwave.
- Top with apple pie topping and walnuts if desired.
