Honey Soy Chicken Wings

Ingredients

The chicken wings

  • 1 to 2 lbs. chicken wings
  • white sesame sesame seeds

The marinade

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • ¼ cup cooking sake
  • ½ tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 piece scallion, cut into strips
  • 3 dashes black pepper powder
  • 2 inches ginger, peeled and coarsely diced

The glaze

  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mirin
  • 1 tablespoon cooking sake

Instructions

  1. Clean and pat dry the chicken wings.
  2. Combine all marinade ingredients with the chicken wings and marinate for 30 minutes.
  3. Heat the glaze ingredients over low heat until thickened.
  4. Preheat the oven to 400°F (207°C).
  5. Bake the chicken wings for 10 minutes, then brush on the glaze and bake for another 10 minutes.
  6. Repeat the glazing process and bake for an additional 10 to 12 minutes until slightly browned and charred.
  7. Remove from the oven, top with sesame seeds, and serve immediately.
