Ingredients

The salmon

  • 4 fillets skinless salmon
  • 1 ¼ tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp ground paprika
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • to taste salt and freshly ground black pepper

Lemon Yogurt Sauce

  • ½ cup fat free plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 Tbsp heavy cream
  • ¼ tsp lemon zest
  • 2 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp minced fresh garlic
  • 1 Tbsp finely minced fresh cilantro
  • to taste more cilantro for serving

Instructions

  1. Let the salmon rest at room temperature for 10 minutes.
  2. Whisk together the spices in a mixing bowl.
  3. Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Season the salmon with salt and pepper, then rub the spice mixture on both sides.
  5. Cook the salmon in the skillet for about 3 to 4 minutes per side.
  6. Plate the salmon and top with the lemon yogurt sauce, garnishing with cilantro.
  7. For the sauce, whisk together yogurt, cream, lemon zest, lemon juice, garlic, and cilantro in a small bowl, seasoning lightly with salt and pepper.
