Korean Air Fryer Chicken Wings

Ingredients

The wings

  • 1 ½ pounds chicken wings
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

The sauce

  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic
  • 2 teaspoons minced fresh ginger
  • ½ tablespoon gochujang (Korean red chile paste)
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil

For serving

  • to taste chopped green onions
  • to taste sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the air fryer basket with nonstick spray.
  2. If necessary, split the wings and trim off the tips.
  3. Pat the wings dry and season with kosher salt.
  4. Air fry the wings at 360°F for 12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. Increase the temperature to 390°F and cook for an additional 6 minutes, flipping halfway.
  6. While the wings are cooking, whisk together the sauce ingredients in a saucepan and simmer to thicken.
  7. Once the wings are cooked, transfer them to the sauce and stir to coat.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
