Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9 x 13 baking dish with parchment paper.
- Melt the unsalted butter for the brownie batter and mix with cocoa powder.
- Add granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt to the brownie mixture and whisk.
- Incorporate eggs and vanilla extract into the brownie mixture until blended.
- Add flour to the brownie mixture and mix until just combined, then fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- For the cookie dough, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- In a stand mixer, whip unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Add vanilla extract and egg to the cookie batter and mix well.
- Combine dry ingredients with the cookie batter and fold in chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough on top of the brownie batter, leaving spaces.
- Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips over the cookie layer.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes, then remove foil and bake for another 20 minutes.
- Allow to cool before slicing into 15 portions.
