Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9.5-inch deep pie plate.
- For the brownie layer, melt the butter and chocolate chips in a microwave, stirring until smooth.

- Stir in flour, cocoa powder, salt, and optional chocolate chips until no dry streaks remain.
- Spread the brownie batter in the prepared pie plate.
- For the cookie layer, cream together butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt until light and creamy.
- Add the egg and vanilla, mixing until well combined, then stir in flour and chocolate chips.
- Dollop the cookie dough over the brownie batter without spreading it.
- Bake for 25-35 minutes until the cookie layer is golden and the center is soft but set.
- Serve warm or at room temperature, preferably with ice cream.
