Ingredients

  • 8 oz Contadina tomato sauce
  • 1 med clove garlic, pressed
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoon low carb sugar
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Measure the onion powder, basil, oregano, and red pepper flakes into a small bowl and chop the parsley.
  2. Pour olive oil into a small saucepan and add the pressed garlic, cooking until fragrant.
  3. Add the tomato sauce, chopped parsley, and dried seasonings to the pan.
  4. Add half of the sweetener, taste, and adjust sweetness as needed.
  5. Simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce darkens slightly and loses its raw smell.
  6. Cool and store in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze until needed.
