Ingredients

The potatoes

  • 2 pounds Yukon gold potatoes

The cooking liquid

  • 3 cups broth (chicken or vegetable)

The creamy ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ¼ cup plain Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • ½ cup buttermilk

The spices

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut the potatoes into chunks about an inch thick.
  2. Add the potatoes to a large pot with cold water or broth, covering them by an inch.
  3. Bring the liquid to a boil, then reduce the heat and cook until the potatoes are tender.
  4. Drain the excess liquid from the pot.
  5. Mash the potatoes with a potato masher.
  6. Add buttermilk, Greek yogurt or sour cream, butter, and spices.
  7. Stir until creamy.
